A world of self-hate.
Hardship and strife;
the kiss of fate.

An inner hurricane,
an innocence slain.
A tear shed,
and a bead of blood red,
along with the pain.

The screams in my head
could wake the dead,
and my thoughts
are heavy like lead.

The outside is wrong
and the inside's a mess.
My heart is still beating,
but my eyes are lifeless.

MemoriaA battle they don’t see
The war of memory
The struggle to suppress
These seconds of duress

Along with these moments
Longing for lost enchantments
Wishing to forget
To get lost in the net

Then this tale could fade
Slip into a dark shade
Giving us another chance
Another try at our dance

If memory was merciful
We would simply forget
And if time was remorseful
Regret and hope could offset

We could get lost in the glory
We could live another story
Without painful memory
Connecting you to me

Or has no one bothered to tell you
To regard your concern for a friend?
Does anyone seek my benefit
In the same way you seek your next meal?
Does anyone know that you know me?

Unbreakable strands of silk

Reflecting in light

NewbornClose your eyes and listen
And soon enough you'll hear
The heartbeat of a newborn
Beating fast and clear

Innocent and curious
A newborn wants to know
The big world that surrounds it
And who is friend or foe

A newborn calf is precious
Just like a newborn pet
It needs its mother with it
To love and to protect

So why do you forget this
When you buy meat and cheese?
A calf isn't a cat or dog
But it deserves to breathe

A newborn needs much space to grow
Regardless of what species
A newborn needs to have good health
Not cages caked with feces

A calf that's torn from its mother
Two short days after birth
A calf that's born just to be killed

My face grew pale and my lips blood red.
My limbs became weaker,
Though my eyes shone like the stars.
And all the world left me was hope.
But the Earth was angry with the moon...
For creating a monster.

Your pain filled expression as you are turned down
There is a feeling of pain left inside
But there is nothing left to hide

It looks like it’s been torn open

But it’s just not to be

I miss the beauty in the air
Of the times where you start to sing
A melody of your love
It’s another one of those beautiful things
But now all I feel is the misery in the air
Where you were rejected

You are counted upon to be
The bride of christ, and yet somehow
You have lost sight of this ideal
And have come to worship standards
You impose on everyone else

Whether the fiercestperfection
Sought out by Old Testament law
Or an unwillingness to hear
The depths of one's identity
You are expecting each person
To be somebody they are not

How can you show the world God's love
If you refuse to treat people
Like people rather than cutouts
Everybody is imperfect
And exquisitely intricate
Nothing more should be expected

All the carnage that you have witnessed
Must be cumbersome to your heart
With such torturous persistance
All the bloodshed your hands have wrought
By the black will of the warlord

As I live in America,
No hardship I experience
Is nowhere near as difficult
As the sorrow you have suffered
Over such a concise lifetime
I pray God gives you the strength
To endure these dark memories
To survive the warlord's brainwash
Do you feel a belief in God
With so much torment in your heart?

but now I don't even try.
Stop saying that it hurts
and stop questioning how and why.

Explanations aren't simple
and with all these flaws I fight
it's so hard to ever get well,
even harder to shine bright.

But even if I said I'm sorry,

I know that I have changed
but we can't stay kids forever
and I know it might be strange

Emotional ParadoxThousands of tiny black drops splash against sapphire skies,

shedding a rain of tears that fall upward into the night,

an introversion of a life led upside down

A flash typhoon, a rhythmic storm, an echo in the rain,

my heart is an ocean of emotion,

sometimes a wave, other times a tsunami

Along ambiguous drafts in the air words take flight,

Sometimes like daggers aimed for the heart they leave their mark,

Another NightThe boy watched as night fell.
He knew what was coming.
Soon he would be in hell.
His emotions were numbing.

Ever night was the same.
He'd suffer all alone.
He'd play this evil game.
The feeling was well known.

First would come the boredom,

Nightmare, nightmare!
Lost and unaware.
Drowning in my despair.
Look me in the eyes;
tell me this is fair!
Shelter from these dark skies
is impossible to find.

Demands, demands!
If no one understands,
how can anyone care?
Tears fall as I stare
at my life,
a wasteland so bare.

Tragedy, tragedy!
someone hold me steady!
Help me escape this fate
before it's over;
before it's too late!

Blind, blind!
Sickness of the mind,
cruel and unkind.
no respite will I find...

Ringing, ringing!

I think a lot of us get paranoid and depressed due to stress. I think panic attacks are quite common. Life can seem like a nightmare and all your fears start to grow but in time the anxiety passes. Nicely done.
